| Washington County 4-H Tech Wizards receive 2007 Green Heron Award from Tualatin Riverkeepers Date: March 1, 2007 4-H Tech Wizard students from Forest Grove will be honored at an awards dinner to be held on April 14th at the Tualatin Country Club in Tualatin. The group won the Green Heron Award in the Youth/School Group category for their efforts to protect and restore the Tualatin River and its watershed. Equipo Verde (Green Team) is a 4-H Tech Wizards group of Latino students that have been working during the past school year on a restoration project along the banks of the Tualatin River in nearby Cornelius at Gales Creek.
Maria Bahena, who is part of the 4-H team said “The most important thing is that it is necessary for people to be involved in things,” she said, “because we as a community need a lot of help. There are a lot of things to do.” Press Contact: Lisa Conroy, Faculty
