Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQs)
How are Washington County 4-H and Washington County 4-H Leaders Association
affiliated?
Washington County 4-H manages the state and national 4-H program
in our area. The Washington County 4-H Leaders Association is a fund
raising body that was created to fund local programs. The two groups
work closely together to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our
community.
4-H is supported with tax dollars, why are you soliciting
grants, corporate sponsorships, and donations?
Washington County 4-H is supported with tax dollars for state and
national programs. If a county has special needs and builds a local
program, they have to self-fund the program.
Who is served by this program?
The Tech Wizards Program is focused at underserved at-risk youth
in Washington County. Based on a recent survey, the highest drop out
rate is currently among the Latino community. Our initial project
is focused on helping these youth, however, as funding allows, we
want to extend this program to include all at-risk youth in our community.
